Maurizio Anzeri response

"Maurizio Anzeri makes his portraits by sewing directly into found vintage photographs." This research explains the techniques the artist uses, so I have photographed my classmate and edited it to make it look 'vintage'. Then to make it look similar to Anzeri's work I have used nails and thread to create the lines in the foreground of the artwork. Personally I enjoyed doing this outcome the best and I am really pleased with the results.

Marta Minujin Response

I have chosen to respond to this artist because I believe she connects to my project of psychedelic art. Minujin uses vibrant colours and confusing patterns in her work, I have related to this and used fabric, bright coloured vinyl and heat press, with overlapping to create uncertainty.

Combined Response

I have combined Carlos Cruz-Diez work with weaving, Cruz-Diez designs 2D line drawings, I created a similar line outcome using a previous technique I tried with nails and thread. In addition I added weaving into the middle of the response using coloured fabric.

Case Study Response

I have responded to a case study of a dark, and scary hallucination someone has had about a young terrifying girl. I have photographed a classmate and edited in photoshop to create a frightening effect. I incorporated this with hand embroidery to sew the 'screaming' girl, and machine embroidery to create the blood coming out the eyes.
